Costa Rica is an amazing country with a widely diverse culture, people, history, nature, activities, and geography. 

This tour begins in one of the largest coffee farms where you will learn every step of the coffee-making process and visit through the beautiful La Paz waterfalls complex.

Turrialba is a charming town with stunning views of Costa Rica's rural countryside, home of the most important archeological site, Guayabo National  Monument located in the foothills of the Turrialba volcano.

Experience the highlands of Costa Rica in San Gerardo de Dota. This region is most well known for being the primary habitat for the Resplendent Quetzal, Costa Rica's most famous bird.

Activities: Coffee tour, waterfalls, Hotsprings, hiking, bird watching, white water rafting, horse back riding, historical monument,sun and beach.

Daily Itinerary ( 10 days - 9 nights)

Day 1 Arrival day. Welcome to Costa Rica!

Meet & greet at the international airport and ground transfer to Hotel near the San Jose area.

 

Day 2 Doka coffee tour and La Paz Waterfalls (B-L) This tour begins at Doka Estate coffee farm, where you can learn about the production,  From the growth of the plants to harvest of the beans to roasting and grading of the beans to the tasting is covered in this tour on the side of the mountain.  You will continue to La Paz Waterfall Gardens to enjoy hiking trails through the rain and cloud forest with rivers and five waterfalls. Among the spectacular creatures, visitors will encounter are rainbow-billed toucans, scarlet macaws, blue morpho butterflies, white-throated capuchin monkeys, poison dart frogs, bushmaster snakes, two-toed sloths, and a jaguar. La Paz rescues and rehabilitates animals taken from their habits, only those that can’t return to the wildlife permanently at the refuge.

Lunch at the complex. Back to the Hotel in the afternoon. 

 

Day 3 Transfer to Turrialba  (B) After a delicious breakfast, you will be heading to Turrialba valley through the former Capital of Costa Rica, Cartago, then up through the slopes of the Irazu Volcano and active Turrialba Volcano, then start going down to the Valley of Turrialba.  Upon arrival be ready for a rafting trip in the Pejibaye River, class II or III level, this tour takes three hours. No previous experience is necessary, making this tour ideal for the whole family. Lunch on the trip. Overnight in a hotel near the Turrialba valley area.

 

Day 4 Turrialba- Guayabo National Monument.(B-L) Near the active Turrialba volcano, you will be visiting the largest and most important archaeological site in Costa Rica, The Guayabo Nacional Monument. Here, you will find a sophisticated city infrastructure as well as an aqueduct system and mysterious petroglyphs and tombs. This precolumbian site provides a fantastic insight into what life circa 1000 BC to 1400 AD must have been like.  Brown jays and toucans are the most commonly seen birds out here. Of the few mammals that live here, coatis, armadillos and squirrels are frequently spotted. Afternoon on your own. Overnight at the hotel in the area.

 

Day 5 Transfer to San Gerardo de Dota ( B-L-D) Heading to Cerro de la Muerte one of Costa Rica’s highest peaks. The drive takes approximately 2.5 hours from Turrialba. As one drives up, marvelous views appear before your eyes, carrot & potato plantations and the countryside. Explore the surroundings of the hotel. Overnight in a peaceful mountain lodge at an altitude of 7000 ft above sea level surrounded by the unspoiled ecology of the area.

 

Day 6 San Gerardo de Dota.( B-L-D)  Early in the morning you will be ready to enjoy the natural wonders of the San Gerardo de Dota Area on a horseback riding tour and maybe you can spot the Resplendent Quetzal, in its magical flight, is a sample of the exuberant biodiversity that lives in the area. A collage of green trees and mountains. A peaceful setting enhanced by the sounds of the river in its endless travel through the rocks, lets you feel nature and see it come alive, in a place where the mist of the scenery sets the mood for those searching to get away from it all. Dinner at the hotel restaurant. Overnight at the mountain lodge. Make sure you bring jackets, the temperature here is cold.

 

Day 7 Ground transfer to Manuel Antonio National Park (B). After an early breakfast, we will continue through the mountains and start descending until we get to San Isidro del General, a very picturesque town, part of the San Jose province, then we hit the sea level at Dominical beach, a famous surfing beach. We will stop for lunch on the way.   Check in at the hotel in the area of Manuel Antonio mountains area. Manuel Antonio National Park is the most popular National Park in Costa Rica. The beaches are ideal for swimming and excellent for snorkeling. There are many walking and hiking trails within Manuel Antonio National Park that lead to secluded beaches and spectacular views, such as those at Punta Catedral. Besides the spectacular beaches, Manuel Antonio offers a dense vibrant forest and a huge variety of wildlife. Afternoon on your own at the beach. As an optional activity, you can visit and hike through the trails of the Manuel Antonio National Park. Dinner at the hotel.

 

Day 8  Manuel Antonio National Park. ( B) Sun and beach day. Overnight at Hotel in the area.

 

Day 9 Transfer to San Jose (B) Check in at the hotel near the airport.

 

Day 10 Transfer to the airport for your flight back to your country (B)  Thank you for choosing us!
